High voltage circuit breakers can be divided into many types according to their working principles and arc extinguishing media.

Types of high voltage circuit breakers:

1.Air circuit breaker: One of the earliest high-voltage circuit breakers, it extinguishes fires through high-speed airflow, thereby interrupting the flow. However, due to heavy noise pollution, it has gradually been replaced.
2.Oil-immersed circuit breaker: It can absorb and dissipate heat through oil as a medium, but it is necessary to ensure that the oil quality is good and the temperature is suitable, so the operating cost is relatively high.
3.Gas circuit breaker: It uses high-pressure gas to extinguish fires. Among them, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) circuit breakers are popular due to their excellent insulation and arc extinguishing capabilities. Compared with air circuit breakers, gas circuit breakers use special gas media, such as SF6, to make fire extinguishing more stable and reliable.
4.Vacuum circuit breaker: It uses vacuum media to extinguish fires. It is small in size and light in weight. It is suitable for frequent operation and does not require maintenance. Therefore, it is widely used in distribution networks.
5.Solid gas circuit breaker:  It uses gas decomposed by solid gas products at high temperatures to extinguish fires.

Advantages of high voltage circuit breakers:

1. Superb reliability: High-voltage circuit breakers are built with exquisite technology and have high strength, high rigidity, and earthquake resistance, ensuring stable operation in both normal and emergency situations.
2. Easy to use: Just press the switch button to complete the closing and opening actions, and it is equipped with convenient facilities such as operating handles and visual windows. It is convenient for merchants to monitor and maintain.
3. Powerful arc extinguishing: For different types of high-voltage circuit breakers, each is equipped with a unique arc extinguishing medium and principle. For example, vacuum circuit breakers rely on vacuum insulation to extinguish arcs, and sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers use SF6 gas conduction to extinguish arcs. They can all safely extinguish arcs to avoid fault spread.
4. Widely applicable: High-voltage circuit breakers are suitable for a variety of voltage levels and current capacities to meet the needs of various power systems.
